What is Scarab Academics?

Empowering Students to Succeed On Their Own Terms

College and graduate school can be overwhelming.  People often feel adrift in navigating the experience, with help and guidance sparsely coming, especially at larger institutions or if college is not the only life challenge you are navigating.

We are a consulting service devoted to helping you complete undergraduate or graduate degree programs. We specialize in helping troubled students who are on academic probation or who have been dismissed for academic reasons.

We can also help graduate students with practical advice for finishing a thesis or dissertation, offering advice on writing, committee formation, and scheduling.

Our Vision

Our vision is to become a trusted support system for students who are underserved by traditional advising systems. Whether you’re on probation, struggling with personal setbacks, or navigating graduate school challenges, we envision a future where every student has access to clear, empathetic, and expert academic support.

Our Mission

At Scarab Academics, our mission is to provide students with the tools, structure, and personalized guidance they need to overcome academic obstacles and reach their goals. We believe that success isn’t one-size-fits-all — our job is to help you create a plan that works for your life, not just your transcript.

Our Hystory

Founded by Dr. Christian Schlaerth  also known as “Dr. He-Man”  Scarab Academics was created out of a passion for helping students who often fall through the cracks. With nearly two decades of teaching and advising experience at both large universities and small liberal arts colleges, Dr. Schlaerth has worked with everyone from Division I athletes to first-generation students to those dismissed from school due to life’s challenges.
